Our Purpose and Vision

Purpose:

Enable hardware and software engineers and developers to discover and create innovative computer hardware and software, advancing computing technology and improving the lives of people throughout the world.

Vision:

Modern technology products are powered by one or more software and hardware systems at their core.  Because of the critical importance of such systems to modern technology products, the speed at which such systems can be developed can mean the success or failure of the product.  Our proposed new hardware/software language, Spectrum, and the planned end-to-end development environment, Spectrum Design Studio, is expected to reduce this development time significantly compared to traditional development tools and traditional development languages.  It accomplishes this through a single, high-level-abstraction-capable language which can capture the entire system design.  In addition to requiring far less coding, resulting in greater specification and design productivity, Spectrum’s higher-level abstractions greatly improve verification and synthesis, providing high-speed, cycle-accurate simulation and better PPA (Power, Performance, Area) synthesis results.  The FPGA, GPU, ASIC, High-Performance Computing (HPC), AI, and Embedded System markets rely on design and development tools such as ours to turn out high-performance systems.  Product developers in each of these domains will be more than eager to adopt a new language that accentuates their creative genius and a development environment that enables the shortest time-to-market for their products.  Together these product categories belong to the larger category of Hardware/Software System Design and Development—it is this broader category that we address.
